James Otto

Friday, June 16

There’s a certain chemistry that happens when a great vocalist collides with a hit song. Magic just explodes from the speakers and the impact is undeniable. It’s a phenomenon James Otto knows well. His breakthrough hit, “Just Got Started Lovin’ You,” topped the country chart and was the Most Played Country Single of the Year in 2008, according to Billboard magazine. Otto’s bluesy, muscular voice and dynamic stage presence earned him the respect of industry gatekeepers and the adoration of legions of country music fans.

Before the official start of his music career, Otto  served in the Navy for two years. The son of an Army drill sergeant, he was stationed in Guam while serving on the U.S.S. White Plains and the U.S.S. Haleakala, and traveled the world seeing over 20 countries. In his early twenties, Otto moved to Nashville and signed a deal with Mercury Records that introduced him to country radio and a national audience. However, it was when he signed with Warner Bros. and released the 2008 album Sunset Man that his career really shifted into high gear. Otto became a part of the renegade outfit The Muzik Mafia, a coalition of Nashville singers and artists born from open mic nights, and developed a reputation as both a riveting live performer and one of Nashville’s most compelling young songwriters, penning hit songs for Jamey Johnson, John Anderson, Trace Adkins, Randy Owen and many others including the Zac Brown Band hit “No Hurry.”

Otto’s most recent success came in the form of his 2015 hit single “Somewhere Tonight.” Today, he balances a successful music career with fatherhood: writing, touring, producing new artists and working on a new album.

Life in the Fastlane - Songs of the Eagles

Thursday, June 15

The Time was the early 70s. Don Henley, Glenn Frey, Bernie Leadon and Randy Meisner, formed The Eagles: a rock group from Los Angeles, CA. The group shined with fabulous vocals and the finest guitar work. As the years passed, different members came and left band; only Don Henley and Glenn Frey remained from the start. The arrival of members Joe Walsh and Timothy B. Schmidt proved the final ingredient in the band America came to know and love.

With six #1 songs and twenty Top 20 hits, The Eagles were among the most successful and influential recording artists of  the 1970s. Two of those albums, The Eagles Greatest Hits 1972-1975 and Hotel California, ranked among the best-selling albums ever, according to the Certification of the Record Industry Association of America.

Now, a group from Sacramento and Reno, Life In The Fastlane – Songs Of The Eagles, have Formed to play and sing to recreate that same sound in a spot-on tribute. We all know that no group can take the place of the original ensemble, but when these six musicians hit the stage, you’ll believe you’re hearing The Eagles. The Eagles have never allowed their faces to appear on the front of an album cover, and neither does Life In The Fastlane – Songs Of The Eagles. Both let the images and the songs they perform speak for themselves. This is just simply good music.

So “Take It Easy” as you drive down “Life In The Fast Lane”, passed the “Witchy Woman’ and look into her “Lyin’ Eyes”.. she “Can’t Tell You Why”, just “Get Over It” You know you’re a “Desperado” and a “Victim Of Love”. Your “Heartache Tonight”, which is “Already Gone” because you had a “Tequila Sunrise” at, of course, the “Hotel California”!

Skynnyn Lynnyrd

Saturday, June 17

For Skynnyn Lynnyrd, it's all about the music: real honesty with an edge. The group has stripped down the music of legendary Lynyrd Skynyrd down to its finest detail and re-assembled it, not as a cover but just as it was intended. Every nuance and detail is pursued with passion and determination, performed as if by the 1977 pre-crash band themselves.

The group began to take form at the very moment of the tragic crash that ended the lives of Ronnie VanZant, Steve and Cassie Gaines, and Dean Kilpatrick. An American saga ended on that day in 1977, knocking fans to their knees and leaving a void that begs to be filled by millions of fans the world over. Skynnyn Lynnyrd is the "Reloaded" Lynyrd Skynyrd and the parity is remarkable. While there will never be another Lynyrd Skynyrd, Skynnyn Lynnyrd will blow you away with the closeness of their sound and energy to the 1970s legends.
